UCR was established under the legal provisions provided by the clause 5(e) of the University of Vocational Technology Act No.31 zof 2008. The UCR is operating under an Ordinance made by Board of Governors of the University of Vocational Technology (UVT) in aligning with the section 20 of aforesaid Act. Accordingly, UCR is operating as an autonomous body with Administrative and Financial powers.
